Calls For FCC To Stop Playing America's Mommy

An impressively broad range of groups called for a federal appeals court to overturn an FCC ruling on indecency, saying the gov't org has become too arbitrary and aggressive in policing free speech. Given the changing world -- where people are no longer restricted to three major networks but instead have access to dozens if not hudreds of channels which can be blocked free of charge by any parent, to give one tiny example -- the FCC's sudden desire to massively increase fines and punish networks for indecency when the only complaints often come from activist fringe groups that never even watched the shows in question is mind-boggling. Putting a check on its powers would be a good first step to ending this farce.
